

Founding Partner at Columbus Venture Partners, Javier García spent 25 years at Eli Lilly and Company, where he held various executive positions in Business Development and Information Systems. Since 2009, he has focused on venture capital investment, particularly in private companies within the biopharmaceutical, life sciences, and medtech sectors.
He serves on the board of directors of several biotechnology companies, including Highlight Therapeutics, Vivet Therapeutics, Viralgen Vector Core (Chairman), Cocoon Therapeutics, Syngoi, and NeRRE.
Javier is also Founder and Secretary of Fundación Columbus, a foundation dedicated to developing advanced therapies for ultra-rare diseases. He sits on the board of trustees of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and the Health Foundation of the Americas, both based in Washington, D.C., and is also a trustee of the Fundación Querer.
He holds a degree in Mathematics (Statistics and Operations Research) from the Complutense University of Madrid and earned his MBA from ICADE (Spain). In 2023, he was awarded the Tambor de Oro (Golden Drum), the highest civic honor granted by the City of San Sebastián.
